Today we began some Selfie Art.
We talked about what a selfie is - Mila even used Mrs Pelham's phone to show us how to take a selfie.

We looked at some famous artists who have made self portraits in the past - we them imagined what they might have looked like in the 21st century (because we are very clever cookies we know this means the 2000s). We talked about the different styles of portraits or selfies and the different materials they have been made from in the past.

Next we talked about how to draw our own face.
We talked about the proportions - where our eyes, ears, nose and mouth go and how big each part should be.
We examined each other closely to see the shape of our eyes, eyelids and eyebrows and included these in our drawing. We made sure we drew individual strands of hair and thought about how long our hair should be.
We did our drawing on an iphone template.
Next week we are going to add colour and interesting backgrounds to make our artwork even more amazing. We will display our selfies on the classroom walls.
