He showed us his medals and also his grandfather's medals from the wars they each fought in.
Steven spoke to us about what life was like in wartimes - back in the world wars and also in more recent times when he served for the Army.
Steven let us touch the medals he brought along - we felt very lucky.
Steven also brought along a statue of a soldier that looks a bit like he did when he was in Bosnia.
He even brought along his army hat - Coll wore the hat and we thought he looked pretty amazing.
We learned that a soldier wears their own medals on the left hand side and if you are wearing someone else's medals you wear them on the right.
On Saturday Coll and McKenzie are going to a Dawn Parade and they are allowed to wear the medals that Steven's Grandad was awarded. This will be a huge honour.
Thank you to Steven for speaking to our class. We appreciated the way you were able to answer our questions. I believe we could have kept you all day!
