We spent some time today talking about the legend How Maui Slowed the Sun.
We listened to lots of versions on the same story.
We made our own word cloud in our topic book with the key ideas that are in all of the stories.
Later, we made a story board of the story, we used our word cloud to help us.
We had to sequence the key ideas in order.
It was interesting because we all had the same main ideas but some of the details and ways of telling the story were different.
In the afternoon we started to make our own ray for our art display. We used lots of koru patterns on our ray for Te Ra.
Tomorrow we will begin telling our own version of this legend. We will use different ways to tell the story. We might use puppets, iPad apps, record our story, create a booklet or something else.
Have a listen to Thomas sharing his great version of the story in this clip (when it is uplaoded!)
